Young History In The Making…

This past weekend, Spain’s Rafael Nadal and Russia’s Maria Sharapova dominated the courts at Roland Garros, and became the 2012 French Open Champions. Despite the rush of emotions and rain, the young pair weathered through the grueling two weeks, and made this Grand Slam title really count. For Maria, she was able to complete the Career Slam and clinch the world No. 1 ranking, and Rafa established himself as the rightful King of Clay.

When it comes to Rafael Nadal these days, there’s a lot to celebrate. For one, he just came out on top at the 2011 French Open, giving him his 46th singles title in his career, as well as his 10th Grand Slam title. He is arguably one of the most talented tennis champions of all-time, having accomplished at 25 years old what most athletes have only dreamed of achieving in a lifetime. Not only is Rafa a young, gifted athlete, but he also happens to be easy on the eyes, which doesn’t hurt one bit. This was not lost on Giorgio Armani, who photographed Rafa for their 2011 ad campaign, in which he flashed his Grand-slam-winning abs outfitted in Armani underwear and jeans. And the sex appeal does not end there—he also made an appearance in Shakira’s music video for her song “Gypsy”, where he canoodled with the Colombian hip-shaker to the envy of Shakira admirers around the world.
