The Power of Business for Good: International Corporate Philanthropy Day

Each year on the fourth Monday in February, the giving community observes International Corporate Philanthropy Day (ICPD) to inspire businesses around the world to give back and recognize the power of business for good.
We encourage everyone to do their part to make philanthropy an everyday party of their corporate environments, and realize that an integral part of a successful business is not only doing well, but doing good. Check out today’s Huffington Post article that talks about how companies can truly be their best by sparking social change starting at the executive level.
Giving is at the heart of our brand, and today we want to thank you, our Charitybuzz community, for helping us give back to nonprofits 365 days a year! Without your generous support, we would not be able to celebrate raising over $60 million for charities since our inception in 2005.
Keep up the good work! We simply couldn’t do it without you!

Volunteering Never Gets Old (via MSNBC Today)

It is said that with age, comes wisdom, and after reading Today’s GOOD News! article about Dorrie Aber Noyek’s lifetime volunteer efforts, it’s clear that she has a thing or two to teach us all about lending a hand! At 105 years old, Noyek shows no signs of slowing down, and we can’t say enough about her admirable dedication to truly doing good, and living well.
"Kindness in words
creates confidence,
Kindness in thinking
creates profoundness,
Kindness in giving
creates love."
—Lao-Tzu
Here are some highlights of our volunteer day at Yorkville Common Pantry! It was such a good reminder of how all the funds we help raise through our auctions go back into the community to help make people’s lives better, and we are grateful to the YCP staff for everything they do! If you’re looking for a place to volunteer in the NYC area, check out www.YCP.org for more info!
